The Tutankhamun Exhibition has long been a favourite for television and film producers because of the innovation and accuracy of the display techniques used. For over 20 years the Exhibition has been a focus for directors making documentaries and programmes on Tutankhamun and Ancient Egypt. The Tutankhamun Exhibition has proved an ideal centre with its recreation of Tutankhamun's tomb and its treasures, plus Tutankhamun's mummified body, and further treasures displayed in exact facsimile.
Probably the most significant documentaries in which The Tutankhamun Exhibition has featured are "The Face of Tutankhamun", "Return to Tutankhamun", and "Divine Magic". "The Face of Tutankhamun" was a major series of five films for the BBC, written and presented by Christopher Frayling, and produced under the highly respected Chronicle banner by Derek Towers & David Wallace.
