The Tutankhamun Exhibition is the only exhibition outside of Egypt where an exact anatomical recreation of Tutankhamun's mummy can be seen. The mummy was recreated using x-rays and measurements of Tutankhamun's mummy and took over two years of research and experimentation to complete. The original mummy still lies in Tutankhamun's tomb in the Valley of the Kings and cannot be seen by the public.

This World Heritage Exhibition, currently showing in Dorchester, is the original Tutankhamun Exhibition established following the success of the "Treasures of Tutankhamun Exhibition" at the British Museum, London. It features Tutankhamun's major treasures meticulously recreated, wherever possible, in their original materials, and a recreation of Tutankhamun's tomb. During its twenty years the Exhibition has been seen by visitors from all over Britain and many parts of the world exceeding most attendance records. Such is the accuracy of the treasures and settings in this exhibition that it has been extensively featured in television programmes and major documentaries on Tutankhamun throughout the world.
